A happy image of a ribbon-cutting belies the seriousness of their intent. The Prince William County/Manassas Convention & Visitors Bureau is launching what they themselves term as an "agressive effort to attract new travelers."
Late last week, CVB officials opened the doors to a new office and a new tourism campaign aimed at keeping the "Washington, D.C. area's best-kept secret" not-so-secret. Executives are pinning their efforts on the (hopefully) successful promotion of the 150th commemoration of the Civil War (or the Sesquicentennial as true history buffs may be inclined to call it). Activities will kick-off in July 2010.
In the meantime, look for the Prince William County/Manassas CVB to revamp its "logo, marketing materials, website and social media platforms" in an attempt to boost tourism numbers.
